“VOICE” Mid Galloway
(Volunteering Opportunities in Community Engagement) is a new pilot project led
by partners from the Machars Area Partnership. The project is funded by
Voluntary Action Fund (Scotland ). Recent evidence from the “Resilient
Communities” Sub-Group of the Wigtownshire Health & Wellbeing Partnership
identified that there were a number of agencies and service providers
delivering and facilitating a wide range of training opportunities for their
own service users and volunteers in isolation.Through the “VOICE” project organisations
working with volunteers in Mid Galloway will work together to open up, identify
and develop further training opportunities across the Machars. The project will enable partners to share
skills, resources, avoid duplication and help raise awareness and promote the
benefits of volunteering to individuals and local communities.
The launch of the Project will be held on Wednesday 4th June and road show sessions will be held in:
Whithorn Community
Centre 10.00am – 12 Noon
Wigtown County
Buildings 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Belted Galloway, Newton Stewart – 6.00 –

(Tea, Coffee and
light refreshments will be available at all sessions)
Key Partners will host market
places on the day, there will be opportunities for further networking with
additional partners, and for potential volunteers to find out a bit more about
the project and sign up.. Further information on the agenda for the sessions
will follow – but please get the date in your diary - we look forward to seeing
you all there!! ..
