Whithorn School Art Display

At the Whithorn Spring Arts and Crafts Fayre held at the weekend, there was a great display of the work achieved by the children of Whithorn School during their wider achievement time. Thanks to BHC volunteer, Margaret, for running the group.

The Fayre itself was a great success and congratulations to David Coe for organising the event!!!

Healthy Cooking - Isle of Whithorn Youth Group

Last night, the older children from the Isle of Whithorn had the opportunity to cook their own Chinese meal from scratch. After a demonstration of what to do and how quick this dish is to prepare and cook, all the young people got involved and produced really good results.

All tasted their food and although a little hot (spice wise) they enjoyed the experience and different tastes, even though the initial reaction for some was: "I don't like vegetables!".

Great evening. Thanks to Tracey, BHC volunteer, for her time and assistance during the evening. We will be back at the Isle in September!!

Jills of All Trades / in the Community

The Jills have had a new request to assist a local resident who is having difficulty with home decoration.

The group have been practicing their skills in preparation for this new task in a couple of weeks time. The assistance to be given includes filling in damaged walls, sanding and painting of the hallway. When finished, this will make the homeowner happier as the entrance to the house will be tidier.
