“I went along to give a short presentation to the Merrick and Cairnsmore patient participation groups. It was great to be invited to talk about our SMP programme and get feedback about the needs of the community and how we can support these. Also to have the opportunity to talk within a professional health care setting about how we can offer support to carers. Around 80% of carers do not know what support is available to them, and often only find out when their own health has deteriorated. Thanks to everyone who came along, and especially to Aileen and Sandy for inviting me.”
