Volunteer of the Year - Nomination

Tomorrow sees the Dumfries and Galloway NHS Celebrating Excellence Awards. There are a number of categories for teams and workers and we are proud to announce that Luke Utting, our resident Blogmeister, has been shortlisted in the category “Volunteer of the Year”

Luke will be attending the award ceremony at Easterbrook Hall on Friday evening and we are all keeping our fingers crossed for him.

Pics of Luke in his “Black Tie” clothing will be on display next week!!

Building Healthy Communities in the Machars is part of a region wide programme and is a partnership of public, community and voluntary organisations that meet and work together in the Machars.

As part of the BHC programme, we work with local people, agencies and community groups to improve community resilience. We establish and deliver a range of health and wellbeing interventions, help people develop new skills, increase their knowledge and encourage and support individuals to become volunteers.

Machars Area Partnership is a community partnership whose aims are to promote health and wellbeing, providing an impact on health & quality of life.
Through joined up working, BHC intends to improve the health and capacity of all the community it serves.

Taking a community development approach, the partnership will empower volunteers & the wider community to improve their own health & social wellbeing.

Its our community; lets come together and work in partnership to build a safer, happier, healthier environment.
