The first Wednesday of each month is used to demonstrate a new craft and this month it was to show the group how to work with FIMO modelling clays. Lynn Wheatley showed the techniques needed to produce a number of different articles using this brightly coloured clay, which can then be baked in a conventional oven. Many of the members took the opportunity to model anything from fairies to buttons and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The Arts and Crafts Group meets each Wednesday at 12.30pm to 3.00pm at
St Ninians Hall in the Isle of Whithorn and new members and visitors are
welcome to come along and see what happens. Next month’s new craft, on
Wednesday 6th March, will be on Beadwork, but new members can try
out painting, drawing and knitting at any time. For more details contact
Building Healthy Communities on 01671 404267. The group is supported by
Kilgallioch Wind Farm Community Fund.
