Self Management Programme Workshop, Friday 14th September 2012

Many statutory and voluntary organisations as well as community members and BHC volunteers attended a Self Management Programme workshop for the newly funded programme at the Douglas Arms Hotel, Castle Douglas.

A total of 65 people were present and attended presentations and workshops throughout the day.

A special thanks to Maureen Farrell, BHC volunteer in Dumfries and Lower Nithsdale, who broke down the strategic presentations and vocalised it as a real life event, thus making it more accessible for all the community members that were present.

Afternoon Workshop

Three different workshops were held in the morning, focussing on the three strands of the programme. Older people, Carers and those with LTC’s. In the afternoon, the workshop was focussed on partnership working with the idea of setting up a steering group for the Self Management Programme.

Many thanks to all who attended for making the day so productive. Also, thanks to the Douglas Arms for their help in setting up the event and providing an excellent service throughout the day.
