Whithorn Parent Council School Fete

On Saturday, we were involved in assisting with the Fete at Whithorn Primary School which was organised by the Parent Council. This was a great event and raised over £1400 for School Funds. BHC provided Fruit Kebabs free of charge to all who attended. Staff and volunteers assisted with stalls and even got dressed up for the occasion. Well done to all the people who helped make the day a success.

Building Healthy Communities in the Machars is part of a region wide programme and is a partnership of public, community and voluntary organisations that meet and work together in the Machars.

As part of the BHC programme, we work with local people, agencies and community groups to improve community resilience. We establish and deliver a range of health and wellbeing interventions, help people develop new skills, increase their knowledge and encourage and support individuals to become volunteers.

Through joined up working, BHC intends to improve the health and capacity of all the community it serves.

Taking a community development approach, the partnership will empower volunteers & the wider community to improve their own health & social wellbeing.

Its our community; lets come together and work in partnership to build a safer, happier, healthier environment.
