Smoking Matters

Personal statement from Nathalie

After many years of smoking, I felt that the time was right for me to give up. I joined Smoking Matters and had an initial chat with June, the advisor. Once I had made my mind up to give 100% to the programme, I sought advice and was prescribed patches and I also chose the inhalator so that I had something to do with my hands.

After about three days, I was not as irritable and when I had my Carbon Monoxide levels checked again, they were the same as a non smoker!!  Great!

I have been on the programme for 5 weeks now and have not deviated from the plan.

If it works for me…It could work for you!!! So if you are a smoker, why not give it a go??

Since I joined the programme, 2 others have had their Carbon Monoxide levels checked and are seriously thinking about giving up. The beauty of the Drop In at the office is that there will be peer support to encourage you to continue on your quest for a healthier lifestyle.
