Monday Club – Keep Well

On Monday, the members were given a short talk by Julie Gorman about the benefits of the Keep Well Programme.

This is open to anyone over the age of 40, is completely confidential and is like having an M.O.T. test on yourself. Any findings that may be have an adverse affect on your health would be passed on to the G.P. to keep an eye on you!! Keep Well is an NHS project as part of proactive Public Health.

One of the benefits of Keep Well is that you could be given access to Health Coaching to help you improve your health in a variety of ways. Be it weight loss, exercise, diet etc.
This was extremely informative and Keep Well can be contacted on 01387 272718

The session finished with another exuberant performance by Pam as she led the group in Gentle Exercise to Music.

Due to Easter hols etc, the next meeting is now on April 11th where David Coe is providing material for an Art workshop. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Healthy Lifestyle Consultation - Wigtown School

The BHC team were invited to do a consultation with all the children of Wigtown School to fit in with their Healthy Lifestyle topic this term.

This involved the team visiting all classes over a period of 2 weeks and asking specific questions about lifestyle, activities and finishing with a task on naming fruit and vegetables in their growing phase as well as how they look when ready for sale in shops.

All the classes did really well and contributed greatly to the activity.

A report will be sent to the School on completion with a summary of the results. This will help them plan activities in the future.
